Hi, my son had SDR in St Louis when he was 5, he's now 9 and it has been of great benefit to him. The results are different for each patient but to get a better idea you can chat to lots of people or just read experiences on a few different Facebook groups such as SDR UK or Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy - St Louis Children's Hospital https://www.facebook.com/groups/161839724125/?fref=ts

Really pleased to hear your son has benefitted from SDR and the St. Louis Facebook page would be a useful source of information and views if parents are thinking about this surgery for their child. For anyone is does not know, SDR (the same technique as used in the USA) is available in a few of the major UK hospitals. The Scope website has a information page with details of these centres and information about SDR in general.
