We are seeking participants for a study aimed at understanding how full participation in society and the economy can be made a reality for people with disabilities (the DISCIT project). The research will involve a single, confidential interview covering people’s participation in education, employment, and community and political life. It will also explore the technologies and sources of support that enable people with disabilities to live fully and independently.

Interviews for this project are being carried out by research teams across Europe and the findings from it will be reported to the EU. By finding out about the barriers that people with disabilities have faced and about the things that have helped them participate more fully in society, the researchers plan to make policy suggestions on what works for them, and on what does not work. The overall aim is to put forward suggestions to promote Active Citizenship in Europe. Your views could help shape what we find out.

We are nearly finished with the interviews for the project but are still looking to speak with three people with mobility impairments, including 1 man (aged 60-69) and 2 women (aged 40-49 and 60-69).
