My husband is disabled and needs an accessible shower/bathroom. We applied for a DFG but were turned down because I still work. However, we do not have the funds to do the adaptions ourselves, and in the meantime my husband is not able to shower independently. Where do we go from here?

Due to disabled facilities grants being means tested, if they assess you as having the capacity to pay for the adjustments yourself then finding funding can be difficult. You may want to look at grant giving organisations to see if they can provide any help. Turn2us have an online grant finder which you can use here: http://www.turn2us.org.uk/grants_search.aspx. You can also look to see if there is a DIAL group in your area for local support, use our service finder section to find your nearest group: http://www.scope.org.uk/Support/services-directory.
