I am a parent carer of a 37 year old Down's and also belong to and compete with Trentham Rowing Club near Stoke on Trent.
Our recent meeting wondered if someone with sufficient physical and mental agility would enjoy coxing a rowing Eight or Four to a competitive level at Regattas with our Senior Men's squad. Coxing is a considerable skill and we have strict Health and Safety in place helped by the lake being artificial (Capability Brown) and only 1.5 metres deep.

There will be a period of on land training to learn commands and work with rowers on ergos to get used to being bossed by someone new :-) There is great comraderie in the squads which offers an outgoing and inclusive social opportunity.
