    Hi mojocain,

Contribution-based ESA is not affected by you getting PIP. But you should check in case the PIP award means you are now entitled to income-related ESA as well. You should tell the DWP about your PIP award and any other income you have (including income of a partner you live with and any work they do) in case you're entitled to income-related ESA to top up your contribution-based ESA.

Income-related ESA is useful - if you are entitled, it means you can get other help such as free prescriptions.

Thanks Will. I wrote DWP ESA 6 weeks ago informing of pip award, including copy of award, and asking will it affect my ESA but no reply, so wrote again 3 weeks ago, still no reply, so I came on here.
I will ask my social worker to phone them when he visits me soon instead of a 3rd letter.
    Cheers.
