Hi all I'm new here and hungry for info. My son 12 has Dysgraphia and is really struggling, we are seeing his OT tommorow as I also think there is other things going on. What I want to know is is dysgraphia a recognised learning disability? ie for any sort of benefits. He also has Hypermobility joint syndrome or ehlers Danloss hypermobility type depends which doc you talk to. Just needing advice as I've had to give up work to care for him and help his school needs.
TIA

Hi @Trayk42,
Welcome to the community. How did the meeting with the OT go?
This page summarises what help you might be able to get.
The main benefits - DLA - is assessed based on the child needing more looking after and/or help getting around. It sounds like "needing more looking after" would apply in your situation.
Are the school giving him extra support?
