I had an accident 25 years ago and suffered a severe brain injury and have never worked since. 
IT is a constant fight with the benefits people as they do not see that I am disabled. Is there anybody else on this forum who has the same problems?

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulty you've been having with your benefits. Have you appealed against their decision? We have more information about DWP benefits appeals on our website, which might be useful to you.

Thank you. I have not yet started to claim for the New PIP  as I am still in receipt of DLA; however I am dreading it as to all intents and purposes I "look normal" . what part of 'a brain injury will worsen with age" do these people not understand.  It is now 25 yrs since my accident and each time I have to go through a review of my illness ?  The brain does not repair itself.

I think you are right to say you don't need to claim PIP until invited to do so by the DWP. This is because your DLA can continue until then.

I agree with Roland that perhaps it is important you find some local help for when you are required to claim PIP. The Scope helpline can direct you if you're not sure where to go.
