Hello :-) I'm 35 and have just left 20+ years working in catering to train as a carer. I've found a lovely small family-run home who have offered to train me, they are primarily elderly dementia care but also support a younger client with cerebral palsy who lives independently. My first shift, 8-8, is tomorrow and i'm keen to do well for the client, the home and myself. I have not met the client yet and do not know how severe their condition is. I'm a happy helpful sort so hope I will be able to muddle along ok, but any advice would be most appreciated as I am a little nervous!
