First it was the Para Athletics, then it was the Deaflympics, and now disabled people with learning disabilities will be competing in the Special Olympics GB National Games, which takes place in Sheffield this week.

Roughly 2,600 athletes from all over the country are taking part in the four day event - and the Opening Ceremony takes place tonight!

Tony Hadley (from the legendary Spandau Ballet) will be performing, with Downton Abbey's Jim Carter, The Gadget Show's Suzi Perry and sports star Chris Kamara being the event's presenters.

More information about the Special Olympics can be found on their website and you can keep an eye on their Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels for updates.
