Cerebral Palsy Football at Chadderton Park Sports Club

Chadderton Park Sports Club in Oldham has a range of sports on offer, including rounders, netball and football. Today the club's secretary, Craig Simpson, tells us all about their cerebral palsy football group.

Our video shows our group of volunteer coaches at Chadderton Park Sports Club coaching approximately 50 children with cerebral palsy.

We like to promote a fun environment, making sure everyone is included and active. Hopefully this video will inspire other families to bring their own children along to our group.

We also hope other clubs throughout the country will set up similar sessions so that we can expand our small network of similar clubs and increase the opportunity for the clubs to play matches against each other.

Later this month we pick up the Queens Award for Voluntary services to the community, and on the 8th Sept we are attending the National Diversity Awards at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral - as we have been shortlisted in the Community Award for Disability.

More information about the cerebral palsy football club can be found on the club's website.

What are your experiences of playing sports with CP? Let us know in the comments section below.
