The 2 benefits PIP and ESA are very different in many ways , but with regards to the criteria one is based on  your level of disabilties and how much they impact on your quality of life  where as  the other (ESA) Is all about your ability to work , not about your  physical /mental capicity, as such  so the rules/descriptors  differ
as do the assessments  in what they look for
You can be working  in full time employment  and still get PIP

This happened to me. As above - the criteria is different. But you might be able to use your ESA report as evidence of your difficulties for PIP.

    Hi mandy18a,

PIP is generally seen as harder to get than ESA. The work capability assessment looks at whether you are fit enough for work or not based on the effects on your daily life of your health problems.
PIP also looks at the effects on your daily life of your health problems but is more concerned with your ability (or inability) to reliably complete a series of daily living and mobility activities. Examples of daily living activities are cooking, eating, medicating, washing and bathing, toileting, dressing, communication, reading, mixing with other people and budgeting.
On your PIP decision notice it will have all these activities listed and how many points you scored for each one. If you don't agree with the decision you will need to ask for a mandatory reconsideration to begin with. Please let us know if you need any further advice with this.
