Hi, looking for correct answer ( if possible ) I was on lower rate PIP until 27th of June when I had a leg amputation. I rang to claim higher rate on 2nd of July and today I finally got it sorted. I am now on higher rate but my claim has only been backdated to 27th of September and only the mobility element and not the living allowance part?? Does this make sense?

    Hi mmarkw and welcome

There is a three month qualification period for any condition or change of condition  as in your case. So payment will only come into force 3 months following your claim which is correct at 27th september.

If you have been awarded enhanced both then both should be paid from 27th september
