Appointments

Hello
I'm wondering if anyone could help?
I became registered disabled in November and declared this to my employer
1 of my conditions is insulin dependant diabetes and another is Protein C deficiency  (Thrombophillia) which is genetic
My manager has been letting me have Monday's off to attend appointments regarding my disabilities but now all of a sudden I am no longer allowed to have Monday's off (the only day the anticoagulant clinic runs in my area)
It's my understanding that this might be a reasonable adjustment but I'm unsure
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Just to add..I was attending my doctors surgery for my appointments but both practise nurses left at the same time ( i could attend the appointments with the nurse on several week days at different times i.e after work if necessary )
Now the clinic runs on Monday mornings only between 8.30 and 11.30 only
So from no fault of my own the appointments have changed
I had been attending my appointments at my doctors for the last 15 years

    Hello whitewhisper and welcome

You need to talk to Disability Employment Adviser (DEA) at your local Jobcentre Plus office,

Do you take the whole day off ?
what is the minimum time you would need to undertake an appointment ?

It does seem unreasonable that you are being denied access to treatment but I am no expert on this.

You might be advised to call the Scope help line in the new year

    Hello
Because I have usually more than 1 appointment I do tend to take the whole day off as I have to travel to work also
Shifts start early 6.30am through to 10am)
For instance on the 8th I have an appointment with the doctor at 10.20 and an appointment for a blood test between 8.30 and 11.30
Because I was able to take Monday's off I always made appointments for that day
I will have the blood test and get another appointment on the day after
It's become complicated when it doesn't have to be
Both conditions are vital and necessary for good health and my wellbeing
I am also a mental health service user who is distressed at not being able to attend future appointments
I am available on the other 6 days of the week

As I say I am no expert but is there anything you can do such as swapping shift ?
Obviously if the only day the clinic runs is a monday then that cannot be adjusted. So the reasonable adjustment has to come from your employer provided that you have done all you can to accomodate.
Has your employer given you a reason for stopping you taking the time off ?
Do you have an HR facility to talk to ?
