Should I send in a mandatory reconsideration

I have just been given Standard living & mobility pips rate. I am diagnosed as a Paraniod Schizophrenic I am under a Consultant Psychiatrist and see a Community Psychiatric Nurse every 3 weeks. I live on my own but am visited by my Brother every day and night. My Brother thinks I should put in a Mandatory Reconsideration as he thinks I should be on the Enhanced living rate of pips but I do not know what to do as I risk losing the Standard rates I have been awarded by requesting a mandatory reconsideration. I would appreciate any advice offered on what my best option is?

I would definitely, ring PIP Claims at DWP to request a copy of the HP report and see how they scored you. 

Check the report for errors, inaccuracies, and plain lies. Having been on DLA for 10 years, An ATOS nurse scored me 0/0. In her opinion I, didn't appear anxious or depressed".  Never mind this contradicting the opinion of three Consultant Psychiatrists I'd seen in the same year. She obviously didn't bother to read my wealth of supporting evidence. Her report minimised the effects my other mental health conditions and the physical disabilities I have too. 

I was already, wrongly, on a mandatory reconsideration for submitting my claim form 8 months late. DWP having totally disregarded me delcaring "vulnerable status" in the initial phonecall. I have ADHD and OCD, so I struggle with paperwork. 

As I was already on a mandatory reconsideration, it wouldve been tribunal for me.  I'd taken some advice from a M8 who worked for as a DWP "health professional" for a short while. She said include medical or other evidence, of EVERYTHING you SAY.

Having got a copy of my 0/0 report I plagued DWP with phone calls prior to a Decision being made. I was incredibly anxious. 

Eventually, I was awarded Enhanced Care indefinitely, for 10 yrs. I lost my mobility under the new discriminatory rules, recently overturned in the high court.

I had thought DWP had been quite fair to me, until a YEAR later. They just knocked SIX years OFF my award. Claiming the first two decision notices were sent in error. 

By then I'd lost the will to fight.... 

Most people get a higher award on MR, there's a small chance you might 'lose all' . In your case I'd say that's unlikely. Theres lots of good advice on CAB online, and on the web. But, If you are lucky enough to have access to a Specialist Welfare Benefits Advisor, they will do it for you. 

If you applied for mobility, Google "recent high court hearing, granting mobility to people with mental health problems"... I'd quote that.

Thank you for your help and advice. My Cpn called today and said in her professional opinion I would accept the pips award I have been given Standard Care and Standard Mobility as I will be having almost the same benefits I was on with DLA middle care and lower mobility and I could lose the standard care and mobility if I request a mandatory reconsideration.  My Brother said that the cpn is not very old and maybe not very experienced in benefit claims but he said a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush and as the pips award is only till December 2020 it might not be wise to put in a mandatory reconsideration, he cannot believe that my diagnosis paranoid Scitzophrenic on a last resort antipsychotic drug Clorazil and with a Consultant Psychiatrist and Cpn who visits me once every 3 weeks c backing me up can only be awarded Standard care and mobility pips God help those people with anxiety and depression illnesses.
I am not going to put in a mandatory reconsideration and just accept my pips award but thank you Becky and folks for your advice, help and time.
