Strong painkillers taken before PIP assessment

Hi I would like to know if anyone has been to a PIP assessment when they have taken  strong painkillers I.e the side effects of drowsiness etc as I have a shoulder that hurts so bad so on occasion I take codeine but only if really necessary. Should I tell the assessor?
