I find it frustrating and sometimes upsetting that I feel I'm asking to much just to be able to attend and enjoy social life like any able bodied person without feeling an outsider sometimes!

Thanks for sharing this with us @Carbonel, I can completely empathise. We had a guest post from @gervelle a few months ago about her own experiences with social isolation which you may like to read: it includes some great tips on how to make gatherings more inclusive too.

Carbonel, I completely understand what you mean, one of the reasons I signed up here is due to my isolation due to my disabilities.

I really struggle with it and feel very much alone.
There's nothing in my area that I can participate in either, so that doesn't help.

I have read some things, but they can seem to be almost lip service in what to do, but doesn't really give any solutions as to what to do when you feel truly isolated.
