Hi all

My wife had her assessment in october and had her pip stopped in december 2017. We are now going to appeal. doctor is doing a letter and my wifes cpn is also going to support us 100%. She has dropped from high care low mobility to 0 points by atos. Our tax credits have also stoped this month, this has hit us very hard financially. I know that pip will be back dated if we win. will the tax credits be back dated?. Any feedback appreciated.

    Hi Louden
You will have to ask the DWP as to why your tax credits have stopped as this is not connected to your pip claim.

Hi they has stoped the tax credits as she is currently going though the appeal and pip has stopped. They are saying cause she no longer receives pip high care we are no longer entitled to tax credits. They were very vague if the tax credits will be back dated if we win the appeal.

    Hi Louden.
Tax credits are usually one of two types
Working tax credit to help people on lower income or Child tax credit to help with the cost of raising a child.
contact the CAB they will be able to tell you what your entitlement is.
As tax credits are calculated annually you shouldn’t have to lose out.Good luck.
