just heard the news. it looks like people on esa will get a back payment due to **** up by dwp. sorry didn't hear how much it was or how far back the **** up goes.good news for those who are still getting esa

@lillybelle - I think it's an ESA3 form from the DWP.

hi nystagmite. it is nothing to do with pip. it is esa which is a sickness benefit. hi lillybelle if you are not on esa already you will not get the backdated payment and there is no garantee you will get esa anyway a lot of us have either lost our esa or beemn refused it in the first place.

They are only back paying as far as October 2014, the court ruling. So by ignoring for three years, they have "stolen" money off the poor people affected before that date. Where does their entitlement go to exactly?

hi whistles. my esa was stopped in december last year. wasn't sure if this applied to me but it looks like it may do!

If your due a lot of money they will probably stop your esa if on income based!!

I still don't know if I am income based or contributory. 
If its in relation to the premium I thought both groups got that if they were on DLA at the time?

I did start a thread asking when the premium was introduced and I think @CockneyRebel replied from the start. My premium didn't start for two years looking at my paperwork, didn't know it existed even.

i started claiming esa in 2016. not sure which mine was either but hopefully we are all due for a payout

I thought ESA was the new unemployed benefit not sick pay.

Esa is for those who are not in work due to illness/ disability.
Jsa is the unemployment benefit.

Don't know which esa I'm on but was working before I got ill can anyone tell me. Then I suppose they will get in touch if they owe us anything. Would be nice but not going to get excited just yet

I am the support group but I don't know if that's IR or contributory. That bit isn't made clear it just says based on your NI contribution- yes but is there enough! 

FWIW I was on IS with SDA and middle rate DLA care. They sent someone round and then realised I should have been on the SDP. Back dated to his visit, not from the start of the ESA transfer. I
Me thinking that's a bit odd.

No one needs to claim, The DWP are reveiwing all relevant claims
It refers to the change from IB to ESA
not all claims were looked at to see if income related top up was applicable
This could have prevented the payment of some Premium payment that are passported by DLA or PIP
