Family communications died!!

Hi i wonder if anyone can help, my son has dyslexia, dyspraxia & dysgraphia, in short terrible trouble sith writing & spelling & has been relying on the family pc, due to my partner being in ill health & recently falling out of work & not being able to  work at present finances dia! And after many years our family pc has died:( we are at a complete loss as it was my partners only communication & helped my son on a daily basis woth his schoolwork, we have no funds or credit to go and by one on hp, is there any funding or help available to replace our laptop please? Kind regards

You might be able to get a loan off the benefits agency and you pay that back over time. 
The cheapest computer I have seen recently was £200. 

Are you on freecycle? If you pop to the library to use their computer you can sign up for it locally. People do give things away and you might get lucky. 

Or speak to the school. If it's an essential they might be able to lend you one short term until you can buy one.
Or ask family and friends if they have a spare. People upgrade and keep the old ones. 
Or local charity shops or places like that.

Have you taken your laptop into a local pc repair shop to have it assessed as to what is wrong? We did this with our daughter's laptop and it was a matter of simply replacing the power supply unit. Another time it was replacing the battery to her laptop.

Maybe try the family fund and see if they can give you assistance, also ask at the job centre as they sometimes have programes for refurbished computers at a fraction of the cost of new ones and can put you in touch with companies locally who offer this service.
