so ive just rang to find out where they were it turns out that the appointment has been cancelled. I wasn't notified that it was cancelled

Hello, it's not your fault, but the acessor could be held up, car broken down, but he or she would be in a position to phone you of their delay or a cancalation. I would ring the number on your letter and ask for an explanation of why the acessor never turned up for a prearranged time slot for an home accessment. And what happenes now as you where ready and waiting.

hi they said that they left a message on my answer machine Tuesday 15th to say that they have to cancel. I never got one so I don't know. Anyway I have a 2 to 3 week wait for another appointment.
