With no sign of a cooling during this glorious summer of 2018, I wondered if other people with CP find their symptoms ease during the hot weather? I do but I have no idea if this is widespread or just me. Cold weather tends to cause me aches and more limb stiffness than normal.

I do find my legs are tighter and I feel more achy in the cold, but I’m also suffering in the heat! I generate so much heat when walking, I end up sweating like I’ve run a marathon! I also struggle to sleep comfortably, as I’m a warm person anyway! My feet get really sweaty in my splints, which is horrible! I also like to sleep in gaiters, which are padded, so pretty hot!
safe to say my favourite seasons are spring and autumn! Saying that even winter is bearable in comparison, as you can wrap up against the cold and take hot baths to soothe achy muscles! -
I find my pain levels ease with the heat and prefer the warmer weather overall. However I have found overheating is becoming a bit of an issue also x

@Richard_Scope you're not the only one! Hot weather does make my pain lower but also makes me really tired and almost feel heavy- if that makes any sense! Despite splints and heat not being a good combination I definitely prefer the heat over the cold!Scope

Does anyone else really struggle to get motivated to do stretching/physio in the heat? I just can’t get down to it and my goodness I am feeling it! I haven’t been to the gym in about 3 weeks and it’s making me feel so tight and tired. Hopefully the weather forecast is right and it will be cooler in the south this weekend!

Yes, I can relate! I'm training for a half marathon in October and the heat isn't helping my motivationScope

Wow! A half marathon, good luck! Bet it’s really hard going without the heat!
