Just been through DLA to PIP. An absolute joke of an assessment. Firstly I had 4 months of worry and upset not knowing how this change would affect me. Filled out the form as requested and attended the face to face interview. The accessor was not in my opinion a health professional as stated, she was just an ambulance driver ( as stated in full report of my interview ) and didn't know what my symptoms were, until I explained, great start. I should of stopped then and kicked up a fuss. She didn't understand how my condition affects my every day life, she often tried to catch me out which she did on several points. Anyway got standard PIP payment and after writing and including several letters from OT, Consultant, Language and Speech Consultant my decision was overturned and received enhanced rate. Anyway my advice to anybody is to send all information to hand and give as much info as you can, as the DWP didn't get in touch with my GP Consultant and any names which I supplied when completing the initial claims form.
