I'm a highly qualified web designer with Cerebral Palsy, keen to get into work
Hi, I’m a 30 year old male with cerebral palsy, wheelchair user. I have a degree in Digital Media and my specialist subject is website design. I am really keen to use my gained skills in the workplace. However, with my disability and being in a wheelchair I am seeking advice on how I can receive the support that I would require when working within a company.
I feel that my skillset is being wasted, I am so eager to work and have the satisfaction of earning my own wages and income.
Very recently, updated my CV and my extensive portfolio on my own website. This can be seen here: www.taylor-designs.co.uk
Please reply to this post, of any advice to give.
Thank you.
Sam.

Hi @samtaylor
A very warm welcome.
Have you tried contacting a Disability Employment Advisor at you local jobcentre plus. They are very supportive in helping people to get meaningful employment.
They will link you with the Access to Work team, that provide funding for any reasonable adjustments that you or your employer might need.
Good luck.
Keep us informed how you get on. -

Hi @samtaylor,
Thank you for your enquiry.
It sounds like you have a great selection of skills and knowledge to bring to the workplace.
I would recommend visiting Scope’s Work page as it provides information on how to ask for reasonable adjustments/support at work.
For general employment advice, guidance with boosting your jobs search skills/CV/cover letter and interview techniques, you could register with the Support to Work Service.
Kind regards,
Donisha
