Yes  and welcome to the community, your ESA will remain the same amount what ever the PIP award even if you get only the standard or enhanced rates, plus you may be eligible for other benefits.

Thanks wilko, I was on DLA MIddle Rate and now been put on the PIP Standard Rate of £57.30 but NO Mobility needs. Does that mean I will still continue to get my ESA also

Your ESA will stay as it was when you were claiming DLA.

Thank you poppy123456. As you can understand it has been a stressful time and to recieve comments from yourself and wilko have enabled me to relax just that little bit more. I'm so glad that I joined the Community with people who are or have been going through this situation too. I live alone and suffer from 3 types of Epilepsy, GranMall, Jacksonian and Icta as well as severe Anxiety and Depression, I very rarely leave the house because of my illness and to be able to speak to people helps me so very much. So again, Thank you so much.

Does anyone claim carers allowance for looking after you? If not, then are you claiming the severe disability premium on top of your ESA? This is an extra £64.30 per week and is paid to those that live alone, or classed as living alone, no one claims carers allowance for looking after you and you must claim either mid/high rate DLA or daily living PIP. If no one claims carers allowance for looking after you then you should have been claiming this when you were on DLA.

Hi poppy123456, I do get that £64.30 per week because I live alone, in total my ESA payment per week have been £191.45 because I am on my own, so I believe I do get that. I do have one question though. Because of being moved from DLA Middle Rate to PIP Standard Rate. Does that mean I have to re-apply for ESA or will that just continue as it has been.

Yes, that payment will include the SDP. No, as previously stated your ESA will stay the same. You're already claiming it and in the support group, no need to re-apply.

Hi I’m so pleased to hear that as I thought I’d have to reapply for my ESA. You have been a lifesaver poppy123456. I feel a big weight has just been lifted off my shoulders. I’m so grateful and so glad that I joined this wonderful community
