Hello Everyone...Thanks for letting me join. I am 63, and I just wanted to ask? I am on ESA, I haven’t heard from them, but what will happen about Universal Credit. Does it affect ESA?

    Hi,

Eventually yes it will for all those claiming Income Related ESA. Sometime from 2019 and most likely much later for a lot of people you'll be transferred from ESA to UC. If you claim housing benefit this will also be transferred just like ESA. At the moment you stay on ESA unless a change of circumstances prompts a move.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
