Hi,
My 16 yr old son has cp and I am about to commence the PIP application, moving away from DLA. Any parents out there with positive experiences, I would love to hear from you. I am a nurse so I like to think I am up on the questions and wording asked, but I can’t help noticing that the questions asked commpletely discriminate against those with a physical disability. Thank you for reading, any help, advice, tips would be much appreciated.

Hi,My daughter claims PIP but didn't claim DLA. I first applied for PIP for her last August and she's 17. She doesn't claim for a physical disability either. Even though this doesn't make any difference. PIP isn't about a diagnosis, it's how those conditions affect your ability to carry out daily activities based on the PIP descriptors. When filling out the form you must make sure you put as much information about his condition and how it affects him as possible. If you need to use extra paper then do this. Adding 2-3 examples of what happened that last time he did that activity.Send any evidence you have with the form. Expect him to have a face to face assessment as most people have them. Here's guide that will help you understand the PIP descriptors and what they mean.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
