about DSS forms. Eg dla/pip/esa etc

Question: from when you received your claim/continuation form..... how long does it take you to return them ?

i am asking because it takes me months to fill in a many pages claim form. DSS told me over 90% are returned within 7-10 days! Surely it s not only me!!!!

Yes when I have had any “forms” myself I would always go with the 7/10days as the “DSS” have mentioned.

Do you have a local “CAB” as they are are great ? in helping disabled people to fill in there forms???

Hi,

I'm sorry to say but you won't have "months" to return any form which ever of those benefits you claim. ESA have very strict deadlines and work capability assessment form for ESA must be returned by the date stated in the letter, usally 1 month from date it's sent from them. 3 weeks by the time you receive it.

PIP isn't as strict, it's 4 weeks but they will extend it by 14 days. Certainly not months though. If forms aren't returned on time then you risk being refused that benefit.

When I have a fair idea that the forms may arrive soon I make a start on updating the information from the previous one about a month ahead. That's possible for PIP because you know they send the forms out about a year before your award ends, but more difficult for ESA.
For ESA, as my condition isn't going to improve I basically just updated the original form where things have got a little worse. I couldn't possibly, starting from scratch, have typed up the whole thing in 7 days.
