Feel like I've been accused of fraud

I recently attended a pip assessment, I suffer from mental health issues, and have a problem with my hip. I've been awarded 0 points, the assessor appears to have ignored what was said in the f2f. My anxiety means I have difficulty reaching out to people even on a good day, so don't feel there's anyone I can go to for help. I'm dreading telling the friend who did the initial work in encouraging me to apply (phone calls etc) because I can't do them myself. Feel myself slipping back into that black hole.

Hi @Karen1305, and a warm welcome to the community!
I'm so sorry to hear about your PIP outcome, and the impact it's had on you. I can only imagine how frustrated you must be. If it's any consolation, many of our community members will be able to empathise, having had similar experiences themselves.
Are you appealing the decision? This Scope page on DWP appeals may help you get started.

Hello Karen, you are not a fraud, to get awarded anything your health conditions, disability have to effect and impact on your day to day conditions in relationship to the PIP descriptors .

I can't appeal, my anxiety around people is too bad to be able to deal with. I don't understand why they're saying I don't have specialist input with my mental health when I go to the hospital every 2/3 weeks.

Hi Karen , you are not a fraud this system is designed to cut the cost of the welfare system . I have been through the PIP assessment and feel the same so do thousands of others. You are not alone , fight this, the main thing is where we all fall down is it's about how it effects you not your diagnosis . I have found this contradictory as I should have walked to the assessment room on my knees , looked a mess, oh and don't take your coat off whatever you do ( I actually was having a good day that day and told them ) I did the exercises although some are impossible for me which are confirmed on consultants letters, but they know better in the space of an hour. The whole process is so contradictory they do go on how you are on the day and it's WRONG , but my pride wouldn't give in to this pathetic unjust system. If you can and I know it is hard try and get to some support to help you , this is why they designed this system so you just give up or can't . Please try,,, god be with you. ( Citizens advice etc they will guide you .)
