ESA questions

Good evening all  ? New boy on the block lol. Had my 3rd assessment today in 6 yrs for the support group in esa. I actually had 4 but my second report contained so many lies, I had to appeal the decision. Fortunately I have page after page of reports from consultants and MRI scans etc. As such the decision  maker overturned the decision, and stated it was obvious that I was clearly incapable of work. Strangely enough the assessor had left the company, so wasn't available for comment!!! ? My quiry is this, my condition is widely recognised and there is no prospect of improvement. In fact over these 6 years, it has gradually worsened. After various surgeries consultants have stated this in writing and it's known in the medical field. As such why do the dwp insist on making me travel a 66 mile round trip every 2 years in a lot of pain, for these assessments?? It's obvious that unless a miracle occurs, my condition will not improve. My late mother in law was signed off permanently with her problems, and did not have to attend any further assessments. Do you think a letter from my GP would help in that direction. Thanks for reading!

Hi Sam, You're not alone. It was evident that the decision of my ESA assessment was made even before I was assessed by a 'so-called' nurse. Medical reports, specialist testimonies etc. etc. were ignored and false claims were made by the 'nurse.'  I wrote a letter of compliant the same day, and following a 'proper and accurate' assessment I won my appeal (not that DWP apologised or admitted to any errors)   These assessments are a lottery, and completely inappropriate or just. THOUSANDS of disabled people have appealed and rightfully so too, and even then there's no guarantee of success after many months of trying with the evidence at ones disposal... I wish I knew the answer, but a simple one would be to scrap these assessments as they currently stand. The decision makers are not in any position or qualified enough to assess our needs in the slightest.

… if I may add, it appears that any documents or letters of support are simply dismissed in some instances, and the assessment is based purely upon the observations of a 'nurse'
