    Hi,

It depends what benefits if any you're claiming. If you're claiming either Income support or Income related ESA then you'll have a carers premium (£36 per week) added to your claim. The carers allowance will be deducted £1 for £1 from your ESA or Income support because you can't be paid them both at the same time.

If you're claiming Universal credit then again you can't be paid them both at the same time. The carers allowance will be deducted £1 for £1 from the UC claim. Depending on circumstances a carers element of £156 per month will be added to your claim BUT if you're claiming the extra LCWRA of £328 per month then you won't be paid the carers element as well.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
