Road Safety and SEN
University College London is conducting a research project to explore road safety in children with special educational needs (SEN), including ADHD, autism, and cognition and learning impairments.
Children and young people with SEN are especially vulnerable on the roads and we want to understand their experiences from their own perspective. We are looking for families with a child/young person between 7 and 18 years-old with SEN to participate in our road safety research project. We are interested in how children/young people with SEN travel and learn about road safety. In this project children/young people will be given cameras and asked to film journeys they make that involve some walking. We will then ask children/young people about their films. We will also interview parents/caregivers about teaching road safety to children/young people with SEN.
