Hi I am a mum of a 13 year old girl with mild cp diplegia and scoliosis . She is currently spending lots of time off school due to pain in her back. Her friends at school have shunned her and it’s killing me to watch her be so lonely . Is there any support groups /forums out there for teens with cp? She is spending more and more time in her wheelchair now and is under a psychologist for anxiety issues .it feels as though she’s just giving up . Any advice etc would be really appreciated .

Hi @Juebar
Good to meet you! Thanks, @emmarenshaw for tagging me into the conversation.
I encountered similar issues after spending prolonged periods in the hospital due to surgeries and as we all know teenage can be a challenge at the best of times. It is a real positive that your daughter is able to speak to somebody about her feelings and using her wheelchair more is most likely an attempt to minimise the pain that she is in.
Our friends at CP Teens offer a place to make friends and get support from other teens living with CP, also Phab is a club that I used when I was younger.
If I can help in any other way please, let me know. I would be happy to.
