HI,Is he looking for work? New Style JSA is for those that are looking for work, if so and he's paid enough NI Contributions in the previous 2 tax years then yes he'll qualify for this. It's £73.10 per week but it's only payable for 6 months.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Yes he’s looking for work had couple interviews but nothing definite for job yet

Then that's the correct benefit to claim, providing he's paid the NI contributions. The quickest way to claim this is here. https://www.gov.uk/how-to-claim-new-style-jsa
