Does anyone else in the community suffer from this disorder? My name is bethyballoon and to me every day is torture. I feel totally unreal and feel that the world is unreal. It makes me feel very lonely and I attend a mental health day centre and regularly see a psychiatrist. It would be good to get the mental health specialist’s thoughts on my disorder. Kind regards xxx.

Hi @bethyballoon and to @Carrots23. Welcome to you you both to the forum. I am not always here as I work full time as a Nurse too.@bethyballoon I have knowledge of Depersonalisation Disorder and am not surprised that you struggle. However, am glad to see that you do have access to day centres and a psychiatrist. Have heard of various therapies used to help manage the negative effects of DD. I take it that your GP has done extensive physical health checks as this can sometimes be misdiagnosed as an underlying physical health problem. I'm sure that your Psychiatrist is keeping a close eye on your medication too. Am here if you wish to talk as am happy to listen :-)
