My partner wants to take me out for a birthday meal, and as I'm on crutches and can't get out without help, he thought I'd be excited, but I'm not, part of me wants to go but the other part of me is saying absolutely not. Anyone else feel like this?xxx

I know how you feel, I'm the exact same. Try suggesting you would like a homemade dinner or something you would enjoyDisability Gamechanger - 2019

@Ami2301 I really thought I'd be off my crutches by now, so didn't think it would be a problem, so now I want to forget my birthday altogether, my partner of course won't hear of it. Homecooking he won't do because he does that anyway and he wants it to be special xxx

@Ami2301 thankyou I'd forgotten about take outs we don't have them very often it may be a solution xxx

I think at first, loved ones struggle to understand and accept that we can't do or don't feel up to doing the things we used to do, albeit temporarily or permanently. Your partner will understand eventuallyDisability Gamechanger - 2019

@Hart86 it's on Monday but as everyone will be at work everyone wants to celebrate on Saturday/ Sunday, to be honest it's freaking me out xxx

@Ami2301 everyone is trying to get how I feel, but I just feel like right now I'm not able to dress up and go out as I have to take these damn crutches with me xxx

Can you order a takeaway?

I've spoken to my partner and we decided that we would go out, as I don't leave the house much, but we'd go somewhere that I don't have to dress fancy, taking away the anxiety I felt over my crutches, Thank you for your support xxx

@Hart86 & @Chloe_Scope I had a wonderful time thankyou, my actual birthday was quiet due to everyone working, but I took that day to relax from the whole week end xxx

Aw I'm so glad! Giving yourself time to relax is always goodScope
