Hi everyone,
I have been diagnosed with sciatica and have been going to physiotherapy for the past couple of years but it doesn't seem to be helping this was all after falling on to the base of my spine around 11 years ago. I was wondering what benefits I would be entitled to as it stops me from doing day to day chores as well as working for more then a couple of hours a week
Many thanks

Hi,Based on a diagnosis, you won't be entitled to any benefits. PIP isn't means tested and household income won't affect this. Whether you're entitled will depend on how your conditions affect your ability to carry out daily activity based on the PIP descriptors. Housework and working isn't taken into consideration. You'll need evidence to support a claim and a face to face assessment is most likely because mostly people have them. See links. For any other benefit then it will depend on your circumstances and with no information it's impossible to give any advice. I'd advise a visit to your local advice centre for a full benefits check.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Hi @RhiannanD and welcome to the community! I'm sorry to hear that nothing has been helpful so far.
Like @poppy123456 has said, PIP is not based on a diagnosis and I would recommend looking at the criteria.
Here is a benefit checker which may give you an indication about what benefits you could be entitled to.Scope
