from my previous post I have recently been awarded pip standard, I’m a single mother with 2 young kids, I have received a letter about severe disability premium, does this mean I’m entitled to it? Never heard of it before.

    Hi,

This will be the severe disability premium that's payable on top of different income related benefits such as Income related ESA/JSA or Income Support. No one must be claiming carers allowance for looking after you and you must live alone or be classed as living alone. Dependent children don't count. It's an extra £65.85 per week.

The quickest way to apply for this is to ring DWP and claim over the phone by ringing which ever benefit you claim. Claims are usually done very quickly this way. You should also ask for it to be backdated to the start of your PIP award.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

    Hi.

I called up to apply and I done that over the phone on 11th and today I got a text saying I’d have payment on Tuesday. Wow that was super quick!
