Hi can anyone tell me if me and my wife can both get the sam benefit. As my wife has been on lcwra for two years,
And now the tribunal have said I should be in that group, as I can't get any sense out of the dwp.
As I haven't heard nothing since my tribunal 4 weeks ago, all I need to know is does one person only get it or do I have to claim another benefit.
Thanks to anyone who can help me

Hi @Tottenham12 and welcome to the community.
You can both be awarded it so neither need to look for work or have any work commitments. But you will only have it in payment once per Universal Credit claim. As it's a joint claim, you'll only receive one entitlement of the additional £336, not two.
I hope that helps clarify for you, but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!Community Manager

Hi, @Adrian_scope
If a couple are both LCWRA and both have underlying CA should one LCWRA payment and one carers element be paid. I read the following online just now, last paragraph.
Best regardsYou can't get the Carer element as well as one of these limited capability elements. You will get whichever is the higher element. This means that if you are eligible for:
- the LCW element and the Carer element - you will get the Carer element only
- the LCWRA element and the Carer element - you will get the LCWRA element only
-
Yes one will receive LCWRA and the other will receive the carers element.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Hi @Al_leister, as Poppy said, they should receive one carer element and one LCWRA.Community Manager
