SLOW COOKER RECIPES

Hello every one. Bought a slow cooker. Thought share some of my recipes.

So simple to use and easy to cope with. Plus not much washing up.

I love cooking but this is amazing.  Little time preparation and I have a meal by evening.

I bought a small one does a meal for single people or couples.

Understand get family sized ones. .

So please bear in mind these recipes adapt for your own use.

ONE POT ITALIAN  CHICKEN

You will need:

Chicken Thighs per person use two.
Carton of Passata 500g.
Dried herbs use Italian mix one teaspoon.
Vegetables Onions, Carrots, Celery . I used One Onion, One Carrot and One stick Celery diced up.  Roughly use food processor if you wish to.
To this added Potatoes two or three small ones. Diced up.
Tomato Puree a good squirt.  Garlic Powder a teaspoon, touch of sugar or use a squirt of Tomato Ketchup.
Salt, Pepper to taste.
Touch of water or if you wish to a tub of chicken stock or use a stock cube.

METHOD

Dice up vegetables. Add to ceramic pot of slow cooker.  Use a freezer bag to season Chicken remove skin first.

Add from freezer bag to ceramic pot along with herbs, seasonings.  Tomato puree, Tomato Ketchup cover with Passata and stock if using might not need it all. Or a touch of water.

On low for six to eight hours or high three to four.

Adjust timings depends on your slow cooker.

ONE POT MOROCCAN CHICKEN.

Using Chicken Drumsticks or  Thighs .  

You will need the following any Moroccan spice blend use one teaspoon or adjust to your taste.

Or use a mix of the following Cumin, Ground Coriander, Cinnamon, Paprika, Ground Ginger, Turmeric. One quarter teaspoon of each.

Herbs chopped Coriander.

Carton Passata 500g.

Vegetables any roots half a Carrot, one quarter of a Swede, Sweet Potato and a Potato. Diced up and sliced.  One Onion diced. Roughly.

Small tin of Chickpeas drained. Couscous to make up. Use a tables poon to a bowl cover with water and cover with a plate leave.

Salt, Pepper to taste.

Touch water.

METHOD

Add vegetables to slow cooker.  Add Chicken to a freezer bag. Remove skin and season.

Add to slow cooker from freezer bag  cover with Spices and Passata.  Touch of water.

On Low for six to eight hours High three or four.

Adjust timings, according to your own slow cooker.

Add last half hour add Coriander and Chickpeas drained.  Cover again and allow to continue to cook.  Serve with Couscous.

    I have used the slow cooker for years now spiceman ...infact , i have a small slow cooker for myself and my wife and a large one if the family come around for dinner . ?

    Hello every one thanks very much for support.

    I enjoy doing this.  I do like cooking as you all know but this does save me standing for long periods.

    Do get a lot of pain.

    No need to be on the hob worrying about if this going to be cooked.

    I am safe and clean this does help.

    I do and have done forgotten had a pot on .

    Senior moments.  Doe happen unfortunately, even to me.

    Easy straight in to a slow cooker this morning.  Evening meal for tonight.

    I will be putting some more on.
