Hi my name is emerald and I suffer from constant head pains, fainting/dizzy spells, just having little to no energy and anxiety. Recently my health has gone completely downhill and I've found it really hard going out without a wheelchair, trouble is my partner is also disabled (they use a walking stick) and my mom has bad back pain so I don't have anyone to push me and i'm too weak to push the wheels myself, also I feel like I've completely lost my independence as I have to rely on other people to push me that's why i'm currently trying to save up for a powerchair, I've started a gofundme and tweeted for people to help me with the cost, i'm on benefits but as i'm sure all of you know it barely pays my rent let alone a powerchair! I was wondering if anyone has any advice for how I could get the money for this powerchair or if anyone could help share the gofundme link? Thankyou for reading this!

Hi and welcome,You say you're claiming benefits, do you claim PIP or DLA?Power wheelchairs can be expensive especially if it's just for outside use. Have you thought of a mobility scooter? These are so much cheaper and you can buy them new starting at about £400. Less if refurbished. See link. https://livewelltoday.co.uk/mobility/mobility-scooters/all-scooters.html?keyword=mobility scooters&gclid=CjwKCAiAwZTuBRAYEiwAcr67OeNOV3sD7XEQ0o1vXgZ9fK97h58q52c2vNf8I9A6lYcuF_ozBwj0bBoCX68QAvD_BwELink here also for grants but i don't know if there's anything here suitable for you. https://www.bettermobility.co.uk/charity_funding_options.phpAs a community champion here on scope i'm afraid scope do not allow links for gofundme but i do wish you good luck with your funding for that. Do take a look at the mobility scooter link i posted. The cost of those will be far less than a powerchair.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Hi @emeraldjane and a very warm welcome to the community! It sounds like things have become really difficult for you. Have you had an NHS wheelchair assessment? You can get a referral from your GP.
Please do let us know how you get on.Scope -
