Hello, that's poor not sending out your report, as for sending in further information as you have had your assessment and report sent to DWP I wonder if the extra information will have any impact on your award.
  • M_EandmeM_Eandme Posts: 47Member Courageous
I had new info on the day of my assessment, the assessor made notes of it and said he will add it in report and for me to  send it in, i know its with decision maker now and they have said they will wait for the new info before making a decision.

Thanks @Chloe_Scope i have just spoke to them they said my report should be with me by Wednesday! I told him how anxious and ill the waiting is, after it was said to be sent on 14th which is wasnt, all he said was its 24 pages long with a lot of info on it and not to worry, im taking that with pinch of salt he was probably just being nice, the wait continues, any time for this process is stressful but a month till xmas is really getting me down worrying over my kids xmas presents, keeping my fingers crossed too x

    HI and welcome,

There's no timescales for decision's, where ever you live. Backlogs are just part of the reason a decision can be delayed. It can be anything from 2-8 weeks, sometimes longer.
  • TorimTorim Posts: 8Member Listener
oh I see , I just panic but as you say there are back logs , does your claim always go on how many points you get
  • poppy123456poppy123456 Posts: 15,065Community champion Disability Gamechanger
Yes, you need to score points for an award and you need at least 8 points for standard award and at least 12 for Enhanced. There's 2 part to PIP, daily living and mobility and the points are added up separately for each part. If you don't score the points you won't be awarded PIP.

  • TorimTorim Posts: 8Member Listener
Thanks for the advice , I Done research and took the pip test online and it was scoring me enhanced rate and standard for mobility though I read  it might be different when they look at my claim and do points
  • poppy123456poppy123456 Posts: 15,065Community champion Disability Gamechanger
Unless you understand the PIP descriptors and what they mean, the PIP self test isn't reliable. It's very easy to score yourself points, when it may not be possible to score as many as you think.

Another sleepless nite! Still waiting for my report to arrive, they have confirmed they have now recieved my further information, and said my report was sent, my anxiety and mood since waiting is getting me down especially with lack of sleep! Hopefully the wait will be over soon!

Still no report, into 3rd week now 😩 longest wait ever, i had reiki on Thursday which has calmed my anxiety so much for now, had the standard letter saying they have everything they need, so frustrating that has come but still no report 😴

Ring again Monday but i have heard there's huge backlogs with the mail sorting process at Royal mail with letter going to and from DWP.

The letter you received saying they have all the information is just a standard letter they send everyone and really doesn't mean anything. A decision can still take between 2-8 weeks, sometimes longer.
  • M_EandmeM_Eandme Posts: 47Member Courageous
Hi @poppy123456, it took them 3 weeks to get my further information. I called yesterday and they are resending it just in case, just hope i get a good decision before Christmas 🙈
  • M_EandmeM_Eandme Posts: 47Member Courageous
Report finally arrived today :) ...much better than my last report a lot of trurh in it im pleased to say, has scored me 8 points for daily and 4 points for mobility with a advised review at 18 months.....my last one was tribunal 9 points daily 8 points mobilty which ended last month, so will wait for decision now! Stress has decreased slightly after a better report but will have to see what final decision is now,

Glad it finally arrived. They usually go with the report, it's rare to go against it. If they do go with it then it's standard daily living, so you would lose your mobility award.

Once the decision is made, if you're not happy then you'll have 1 month from that date to request the MR.

Thank you, i will just hope now i get a decision this side of Christmas and i get a good outcome so i dont have to go through mr and tribunal again

@poppy123456 the report  says 0 points on medication (i had one point for this previous)
Under justification the assessor reports i need prompting due to poor memory and self harm and uses pill box, says evidence from last report is acknowledged however medication increased since.will the DM consider this when scoring ?
  • poppy123456poppy123456 Posts: 15,065Community champion Disability Gamechanger
I don't know if they will, they usually go with the report and award what's recommended. Even if you don't score that 1 point, it won't make any difference to your daily living award, it will still be standard because you need 12 points for Enhanced.
  • M_EandmeM_Eandme Posts: 47Member Courageous
Has anybody got points on their report, but then got more or less on final decision....know they normally go with report just wondering what others have had thanks x
  • poppy123456poppy123456 Posts: 15,065Community champion Disability Gamechanger
I have heard of a few people on here where the decision maker has gone against the report and been awarded more points and less points than the report has recommended but it's very rare this happens. Having had 2 PIP assessments for myself and 2 for my daughter (i'm her appointee) the decision maker has awarded what's recommended each time.

Thank you @Chloe_Scope i am just waiting for decision now, the report is a little confusing in the way eg. It ticked i dont need points on medication but put in justification iam prompted due to  forget my meds and abused them by self harm and also i use a pill box daily so surely he should have scored me 1 point?
  • Chloe_ScopeChloe_Scope Posts: 5,842Administrator Scope community team
Hi @M_Eandme, I believe this would have scored you 1 point. Unfortunately the assessor might not have seen it this way. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

It should have scored you 1 point as advised but as it won't make any difference to the award going from Standard to Enhanced then it doesn't really matter. If that 1 point would make the difference in an award then it would matter naturally.
  • M_EandmeM_Eandme Posts: 47Member Courageous
Thanks both, it is the same for engaging with others and managing money and plannin journey which i scored points on my current claim, so if i dont get them i will be MR it the assessor has stated throughout my report i have got worse in all activities since my last assessment.

OMG !!! total joke..... I was awarded PiP in 2017 after a f2f for mental health issues but since then ( 20/05/18 ) I’ve become disabled and I still suffer the same problems around my mental health but I also now have mobility issues to contend with so what does the DWP do?! They’ve reduced my money by £8 a week!!!!!!!! So a local charity are helping me to resolve this and then hopefully (if the f2f isn’t blind) they’ll see that I struggle with everyday things and CANNOT walk with out both my crutches. Currently the guy reckoned I was able to walk 200 metres plus ....... I would LOVE for that to be true—- trust me . The guy from this charity said I have to request a a decision reconsideration so he’s written it all for me and sent it off so fingers crossed I’ll have a more favourable outcome this time around... it took such a long time to get the ridiculous decision of-£8 a week as it was so I’m not holding my breath as to hearing anything back anytime soon
