    Hi Liam, I'm Fran and I'm ASD too. Really I'm not that bothered about making friends out there coz I'm a solitary creature, but my counsellor referred me to Social Prescribing. They get people out and about in the community, joining groups etc. If you look on here there is a separate post all about Social Prescribing (in the Coffee Lounge I think).
    Nice to meet you, and you will make plenty of new friends on this forum, as I have. Best Wishes.

    Hi @1994 and very lovely to meet you!
    I'm sorry to hear you find it difficult to meet new people, I imagine this can be frustrating at times.
    What kind of dancing do you? :)

    @1994
    There is a thread in Coffee Lounge with a link in it where you can read all about Social Prescribing.
    They may be able to pair you up with a dance partner as there role is to get people out and about in the community. The Social Prescribing thread is òn the first page in Coffe Lounge. Good Luck!

    Hi @1994 - Hi Liam, I used to love playing pool & snooker, & I also watch 'Strictly.' It's amazing to read you've won medals in dancing!
    Is there perhaps somewhere where you could play snooker? Or try a pub with a pool table. You don't need to talk much when playing, nor dancing. Sometimes when any of us hope for friends, we don't find them, but going out gives the opportunity for some possible friendship to develop over time.
    Here's a link to the Social Prescribing that Fran mentioned, where you might find people with similar interests to yourself: https://community.scope.org.uk/discussion/65029/social-prescribing-what-it-is-and-how-it-might-help#latest

    Hello Liam.
    If your profile pic is anything to go by, you don't have too much of a problem. I'm  in your camp though. Diagnosed with ASD at 58, don't like socialising, already getting bored writing this, bye.

    Welcome to the community Liam. You're more than welcome to jump in and start chatting here.
    I'm probably the worst pool or snooker player in history, but they're great games for forming friendships. Hopefully you'll be able to find a place local to you that has a table.

    Hi Liam I find it amazing that you have won medals in dancing. If i had my time over again I would take up ballroom dancing I always wanted to learn but I'm not a good learner. I'm in awe of people who can dance. My ambition was to learn Northern Soul dancing I can watch it for hours on end.
    I couldn't do it now though cos my feet are not good.
