Hiya, I'm Lorna.
I have lots of chronic things inc fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, exertion compartment syndrome & kidney disease. I was kinda managing until 3rd Jan19 when I got gout the 1st time & it kicked my butt! It's turned chronic too & has recurred 4 times. My fibro & cfs have flared & I've needed to stay in hospital. I'm adapting to needing a wheelchair & extra home care. Big changes.

Hi @lornak_uk - Welcome to the community, Lorna. I'm very sorry to read about the problems you've been facing this year, especially gout. My Dad got it once, & he said it was excruciating. It must be very difficult adapting to the changes that have occurred. I managed to deteriorate gradually(!), which in some ways may be easier than what you've experienced. Others here will relate, however, from what I've seen here. There are people here with fibro & M.E. & a few with kidney disease.I don't know if you've looked into gout online, so sending links just in case. See: http://www.ukgoutsociety.org/ and https://www.nrshealthcare.co.uk/articles/condition/gout Both sites also give links to other websites. Please have a look around. If you go up this page, you'll see a link to 'All groups' on the right, where you'll find other sections. If you have any questions, please say. There are some very friendly & supportive people here.
