Assessment report

Hi Everyone,

Me again! Hope you’re enjoying the start of your week, I have just had a copy of my assessment report and feel its an accurate reflection of what was said in the meeting. I’m just curious how to work out how they would score on the different sections of the report. Is anyone able to give me any advice on this?

@ Tommyb92, hello, looking at the back of your assessment report there will be pages showing the PIP descriptiors. A descriptor for each question. On each question they the assessor will have scored your awarded points. The top one is no points then 1234. So by adding the points from the report you can workout what you're award may should be but you still have to wait for the official award confirmation letter which can take up to 8 weeks. I hope you can work it out and get the expected award.

    Hi,

Just look for the dots next the the activities/descriptors and use this self test to add up any points that maybe recommended.

I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

There are several websites with downloads of the descriptors and points. Can't copy to here as pdf's.

    Hi Tom,
If I'm understanding you correctly, towards the end of the report you'll see a black dot against a section for each 'descriptor.' You can then work out how many points each may signify from the following link, then just add them up for the daily living component, & similarly for the mobility component to find out your score for each. See: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/Global/Migrated_Documents/adviceguide/pip-9-table-of-activities-descriptors-and-points.pdf
    Good luck!

You don't add the points together that would give you standard rate of both.

    Hi Tom,
This indicates you're likely to get the standard rate for both components, as you need 8 or more points for this. For the enhanced rate you need 12 or more points. Of course you will need to wait for your decision letter to confirm this, altho the DWP Decision Maker does normally go along with the HCP's assessment report.
Hope this helps, & may be what you were expecting.

So I have just heard that they have apparently had more information - so they said I should hear back again in 8 weeks time!

It sounds like they've recommended an award which is great. I hope you're not kept waiting too long.

So following on from my previous message it seems it wasn’t new information - it was just something that was uploaded when I went for my assessment so fingers crossed its any day now not in another 8 weeks!

I know it's very difficult but try to relax a little. It's rare for them to go against the report and hopefully it will be an award of standard for both parts. Hopefully not too much longer but there's no timescales for decisions.

That means that they went with the report, which is usually what happens. Great news! I'm assuming you're happy with this?
