Has any one done a power of attorney for there dissable son - daughter incase you was to have an accident and unable to look after them anymore

Yes. But do you mean giving power of attorney to someone else? (not you) We have POA, financial only for my 22 year old son so that we can help him with financial stuff. But we cannot have the welfare one as he has capacity, so he is able to make his own decisions. My son's POA has me, his dad and his older brother named on it.

Poa is so that my son is looked after if we suddenly have to stop caring for him

You probably need some specialist advice about this...not sure it would be a POA, but more of a guardianship or appointee? Depends a lot on the age of your child and whether or not they have (mental) capacity.
