I'm new to wheelchair use. I want a self propelling one, very lightweight as I want to put it in my car. I am not very strong.

Hi @Christineharfleet - & welcome to the community. May I ask if you're hoping to get a lightweight self-propelling wheelchair through the NHS, or looking to buy one?

Hi @Christineharfleet
Good Evening & Welcome it’s great to meet you today.
I am one of the Community Champion’s here at Scope.
Yes I would be very very happy in helping you with a wheelchair.
Please let me know if you are okay with this??
@steve51 -
I purchased a lightweight chair some years ago, I presume it's aluminium rather than steel. It cost £525 from TGA Mobility but they aren't a particularly cheap supplier. I needed one in a hurry when I couldn't lift my old steel one any more.

Hi @Christineharfleet - Thank you for replying on my wall. There are some wheelchairs in the following link that may give you some ideas, but yes, ideally you want to try one out to get a feel for them. Please see: https://www.completecareshop.co.uk/wheelchairs/lightweight-wheelchairs/
