Today is polling day in America as the general public decide whether republican Donald Trump will be re-elected, or democrat Joe Biden will replace him in office.  For more information on the day as it progresses, you can follow this BBC webpage.

I'd be really interested in hearing your thoughts about who you think should be president, who you think will be president and why.

Now bearing in mind politics can provoke heated discussion and differing opinions, let's try and keep it civil and respect others opinions without necessarily agreeing with them :)  Not that you all need reminding  :D

I don't think either should be president...  How has society reached a point where those 2 are the 'best' candidates out of 350 million to run the richest country in the world!?  :|

If I had to vote for one or the other, it would be Biden...  And I do think he'll win, but I'm expecting it to be close.

Without giving an opinion, just something to bear in mind which I thought of myself. I may well be wrong but it’s something to think about.

Trump is more of an economy-centric president and Biden is less so as he is more into individual rights etc. This means if Biden gets in the US economy may well weaken which is bad news for Americans but good news for us because the dollar will weaken vs. the pound and so certain goods and things like petrol will become cheaper for us.

Great points, also to throw into the mix - from what you know of each candidate, who do you think will be the best advocate for disabled people in the USA?

I’m surprised that the best the democrats could do was joe Biden however he would get my vote. There seems to be a not so secret side of mr Trump that is unelectable and I’m hoping that common sense will prevail rather than atavistic tribalism.

Did anyone see The Trump Show on The BBC?  It's a very interesting overview of his time in power and I'd recommend a watch.
