Hi
My 13yr old daughter has a learning disability and also Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia and Dysarthia.
Her SLT has suggested working on repetition of key words to improve her speech consistency.
We're having trouble making this fun for her at home. Any ideas of games or apps to try? With thanks.

Hello,
This is a tricky question... As you probably know, if a child has dyspraxia, one of the most helpful strategies is 'drilling' sounds, words and sentences (drilling meaning repeating the same 'thing' over and over again).
It might be helpful to find a specific time in the day to practice e.g. each footstep on the way to school, whilst stirring the dinner, whilst walk-in up the stairs, etc. Also, think about what her favourite motivators are? e.g. a trip to the cinema a magazine, etc.
There are some specific Dysarthria Apps but they tend to be very American, using difficult vowel sounds to the British accent. There is one called 'Oral Motor exercises' but you should ask your Speech Therapist to advise you about which App specifically relates to your daughter's needs.
Good luck,
