Cannabis is a variety of the hemp plant. CBD oil is produce from a strain of hemp which is specifically grown to be have little or no TCH which is the "high" in cannabis

I support legalising cannabis for pain relief. But I am angry at the flood of articles saying cannabis oil cures cancer and other diseases. IMO this is just unscrupulous dealers cashing in on disabled and sick people. Cannabis oil is very expensive and I don't believe dealers make it pure either. They make it from the rubbish parts of the plant they don't use for themselves. The same as skunk.
I have personal experience of this. My best friend died of cancer in 2014 aged 44. For the last 9 months of her life she lived in poverty because all her disability benefits went on cannabis oil. During the last stages of the cancer she was bedbound in a hospice with no access to the oil. The doctors struggled to get her pain under control because her tolerance level to conventional medication was by that point very high and as she was dying she was also suffering terrible withdrawal symptoms. So much so that the doctors finally agreed to allow us to get her some oil capsules from the dealer. It made my friend feel emotionally better at least.
The cannabis oil definitely helped with the pain but it robbed my friend of her quality of life during thr terminal stage of the cancer.
Her doctor tried to help by getting her a prescription for sativax. Her dealer took the prescription and said he couod add it to the oil. Absolute rubbish. He was selling it on Facebook to his dealer mates!
I saw the posts myself when I did some research on him.
Perhpas CO can cure some forms of cancer although I'm dubious. It definitely has benefits for pain relief. It needs to be legalised to stop people suffering like my friend did.
Dealers see disableD and cancer sufferers as an easy and large customer base that needs to be harnessed.
Legalising cannabis would stop dealers preying on the most vulnerable in society.
Sorry for long post but I feel strongly about this. After what my friend went through I made a promise to myself that anywhere I saw a discussion about the benefits of cannabis oil, I would share her experience, and mine as her friend and carer. I'm still in debt from taking out loans to help her. I did this knowing it wouodnt work but needing to supoort her and help her feel some hope and positivity. -
Iv used CBD in a few forms, oils and raw, it does me but obviously everyone is different.
CBD doesn’t get you “high” and give you the effects of cannabis, that the TCH as CR said.
I feel the government should do more tests/research on this.
Last week the Kyle Files did a very interesting program on this, a must see. -
Is the Kyle files on catch up?
I would use- but- where to get it from that's my issue.
I don't think I trust online and I certainly wouldn't buy off Facebook. Can't stand that site as it is.Do not follow me, I don't know where I am going. -
Whistles
I’m not sure if it is whistles but it was on last Monday at 8pm, actually Iv just looked and it is on catch up. I was aired in Scotland though, not sure where you are and if you get the same shows.
i got it from a vape shop, the raw also and my local pet shop owner, I know it sounds bizarre, he’s so knowledgeable about it.
Holland and Barrett are actually selling it, they deliver I think.
ditto Facebook, I came off it as it actually worsens my anxiety and depression.
I hope this helps -
CBD oil can be bought from Holland and Barrett totally legal

There is lots of info on line so please do your own research.
Always talk to your care providers before taking any new substance or change of medication

hi. i was amazed top read the last couple of comments about CBD being sold in Holland and Barratt. if i did use it i would definatley but it from them. they would know where it came from and that it didn't have anything else in it. i have just been to my local healthfood shop to buy some msn capsules to see if they ease the pain of my arthritis as they are supposed to be good and i can't cope with the pain at the moment. it is unbearable and i am struggling to walk!

I would speak to my gp first though because I wouldn't want an adverse reaction with my meds.

Hi all, there was questions asked in parliament yesterday about this very subject, (see link below starting at 21.38) Lord Winston and others put across a very good case why it should be legalized for medicinal purposes.

I have not tried any of these CBD products so cannot really comment as to whether any of them are any good, I would be worried about buying unlicensed drugs being peddled online or otherwise as you really don't know what could be in them. There is a big difference between pain relief and wanting to get high and that is why the UK gov are dragging their feet over it because I don't think they really understand that the licensed drugs are a completely different thing all together as most of the bad stuff is removed.

Hello every body the big issue here is not is sorting what is good and what is bad.
I used to take cannabis in the form of a teabag. Put into water have a herbal tea, I was in pain due to alcohol withdrawal.
This growing popularity of any product whether herbal or spice. Look at Tumeric and Cinnamon the new wonder spices.
The prices and what you get differ greatly. My concern is to look at the research. Find much information much as you can. Please can I add I am of the opinion if it helps use it. Find good reliable source and not the web. Make sure it is OK and be careful. Take medical advice. My issue is the ever growing market for these products.
The black market the dark web and other unknown sources. I add that with a caution. I stopped taking it because of having certain side effects .
Please one final point I had an issue with supply shall we say. I am not going to add more than that.
Is it going to be available NHS and like they do in the USA have licensed dealers. Probably only to stop the flood of black market offers and products.
The licensed dealers have issues in the States. With theft and crime. Do we want that here.

I have just ordered the lowest dose from Holland and Barrett, will let you know how I get on as it’s easier to know what I’m taking than the CBD Raw I purchased.
Its worth £10, hopefully it helps

Hi @sandyp196, sorry to hear about the loss of your best friend and all the traumatic experience you have both gone through. You obviously have good knowledge on this subject and I'm sure your friend would be thankful for all your help and be proud that you are sharing your experiences to highlight the disgraceful things that go on!
The Sativex mouth spray has been licensed I think in the the UK on prescription since 2010 maybe earlier, I asked my pain specialist and neurologist about it because I also have IBS and find tablets hard to digest, but neither had heard of it. Can I ask did your friend ever get to try the Sativex spray before the dealers took it away?
