I have just joined the site, my son has just been diagnosed with a mental health problem after a 10 year battle. (sorry problem isn't the right term, because it's only a problem to other people who do not understand)

I have Bi polar, personality disorder, psycosis, I am seen on a regular basis and  currently seeing a C.P.N.  In addition I have scoliosis and seeing a specialist on 23rd April as my GP do not know what has happened as I am unable to leave the house most days as I cant walk to my car.  Even standing in the kitchen brings me to tears with pain.  My G P said he does not if I have a disc problem , I am unable to balance and stand on one leg and last year I lost balance and fell and broke my arm, it would not mend properly and that was when I had a dexa scan and was told I have osteoporosis.  in 1970, I had osteomyeolitis in both tibia, then years later I fell down and hurt my knee, I eventually had to have an osteotomy on my knee where I had a bone graft, I was given drugs that I told the hospital that I could not take them and after the op, they injected me with it and I had a severe fit and I came round to see a doctor coming towards me with defibs ! he said I had stopped breathing.  I then had thrombosis  which luckily has not bothered me since.  I am due to have an arthroscope as my knee is so bad, my specialist is hoping that I do not need a new knee cap so the scope will reveal all.  Sorry, this is so long but, I get fed up and Im sure my family get fed up of hearing about me feeling like poop !

Well, I only joined last night and I happened to quickly go through some of the pages and somehow I came across a page about P I P , I was taken off it last year, despite appealing and I was going through a rough time and there was added pressure about going through it all, for those of you know what its like.  so bought a little automatic car and I think 'stuff your car !! -lol'  and I read last night that if you have been awarded the standard rate of mobility you can have 50% off your car tax, so I read it and rang DVLA this morning and BINGO !! I will get my tax backdated and  now will only pay 50% so thank you Scope for putting this info on here.
Thank you for the kind responses I have had  and I look forward to reading and hopefully being a shoulder to cry on  and meeting new friends !!
    Thank you
